Idea Napkin No. 2

Who am I?

As previously explained, I aspire to learn continuously, requiring that I talk to people to do so. I believe there is a lot to learn from others, so, listening is a good skill to maintain. With this in mind, having some ability to network is within my skill set. My aspirations specific to my business concept include providing meals to those in need, essentially meeting philanthropic goals. Again, like previously expressed, if I were to start this business, it would not play a major role in my life, despite its importance. I would prefer to initiate it and make sure it runs smoothly, but then step back for a more hands-off approach.

What am I offering to customers?

I'm offering a service to customers that basically pairs people who want to improve their health with those who require assistance in feeding their hunger. This service aims to help motivate previously unmotivated individuals in pursuing healthier lives by rewarding those actions that promote good health. This reward is indirect, making the user feel good by feeding someone in need, enhancing the value of self-improvement.

Who am I offering it to?

My demographic of customers has remained the same. They are still individuals likely in the US. They have access to the internet, and typically possess smartphones as well. These people are of the younger and middle generations. They live in urban or suburban areas. In terms of the psychographic characteristics of my customers, they would be philanthropic types, liking to help others, as that is a major premise in my business concept. These individuals must recognize the importance of their own health, making it a goal to pursue a healthy lifestyle.

Why do they care?

Customers will not exactly have to pay me to use my service. They can choose to donate, but this business concept is a non-profit sort of organization. Donations would be used to cover the cost of meals, but functional costs would be minimized by the use of volunteers.

What are my core competencies?

My core competencies are centered on my ability to communicate with people. This sets me apart from everyone else, as I am dedicated to working hard and utilizing my resources to give life to this business concept. I have plenty of friends of different skill sets that can help me along the way, when my own skills are not enough. Similarly, I have to the knowledge to market this potential business.

Summary Evaluation & "Feedback Memo"

Having explored the above five elements, I believe all of the elements fit together. My skills and core competencies work to compliment what I'm offering to customers. While there may be weaker parts of my business concept than others, they work well together overall. I could gain more skills, as to be more independent, requiring less assistance from others in executing this business concept.

With regards to responding to feedback, I incorporated the feedback I have received into this idea napkin by making subtle, but important changes. Having recognized I have no app-development capabilities, I switched to using online platforms that are easily accessible to make pairings. Another takeaway I have obtained as a result of feedback is placing greater emphasis on causing genuine action to occur. Actually motivating users is difficult, so, that must be a central focus in my plan. Instilling a routine into the user lives is a prime component of that, and must be acknowledged.
